Hot Fun in the Summertime...
Unscripted Sketches 112 Reveal

The weekend was a little busy and jam-packed...so here's a Monday morning treat!

This Sketch it Saturday creation began last week with the using sketch #111 "Piggyback" color challenge. I had selected an assortment of summer theme things with the colors, but they didn't work out for that sketch...so I saved them for this week's sketch 112 over at Unscripted Sketches. This worked out perfectly!!!

I have this bag of scraps I bought at my local SB store which has assortments of patterned papers that are offcuts/leftovers from various classes. So I have these summery patterned papers that are from "QuickQuotes" - one that has quotes all over the paper. The quote was the beginning of this card. I paired it with one of my favorite summer background papers "Campfire", that I think is by SandyLion. The flourishes and tropical flowers are stamped on the background and the floral border at the top is a Martha Stewart {bite my tongue} large border punch. I finished it off with some pale blue gems. Viola!

This weekend I went Orlando this weekend to see my sister for a belated birthday visit. First off we braved the storms to go to Stampfest, this was fun and a little overwhelming...WHOA - look at all the stamps!!! Then we went out for dinner with her husband and enjoyed "New Bad Habit" cocktails which were a pair of shots - one with jalapeno infused tequila and the other with pineapple juice. It was much better mixed together. Then we had enjoyed the live music, some tapas and appetizers and seemed to be quite entertaining to her husband. So it was a nice little overnight trip - I had the best slumber party in the world with my nieces {they were spending the night with their father - hehe}.

OMG - can you believe it's July already this Friday??? Next weekend begins the summer celebration "Christmas in July". Join us at Unscripted Sketches for daily posts and fun, festive ideas, how-tos, and surprises. Have a great week!

Happy Birthday Chelsea!
Unscripted Sketches #111 Card

Happy Birthday to my BFF Chelsea!!!
Of course I made you a special card...Surprise!!!

Sorry for the delay in Reveal this week, but I had to keep this one under wraps until today.

This colorful card is my Sketch it Saturday creation using sketch #111 over at Unscripted Sketches. This week has an additional "Piggyback" color challenge of using purple, bright blue, orange and green...this combination calls for DaisyD's paper. This company is no longer around, but I do have a stash of this particular "girlfiends" line...one of my favorites the papers are is so bright, colorful and girly. I used this line to make a real girly CD mini album that I gave to my gal pal Chelsea as a gift.

In typical fashion, I rounded up some leftover scraps of these patterned papers, some Hero Arts stamps that come in a little spiral binder book, and a "Celebrate" chipboard word that was recycled from something {it's color was pastel and distressed so it needed some ink and glitter gel pen}. The fuzzy border at the top is actually a metallic green pipe cleaner twisted with several fun, colorful & fuzzy Basic Grey fibers. It's super easy to do - you just wrap the fibers around the pipe cleaner and you get a dimensional and stunning trim.

Off to work on Sketch 112...it's Thursday again! I am also busy working on new crafty stuff for the Dada Bazaar on July 14th and crossing my fingers for a couple other craft shows I've applied to. Off to Orlando this weekend to see my sister for a belated birthday visit. Have a great week!

Unscripted Sketches #109 - REVEALED
and OWH BLOGHOP Winner!!!

"WISH" you a Happy Birthday... this bright and festive card is my Sketch it Saturday creation using sketch #109 over at Unscripted Sketches. I am trying to use up my stash of EVERYTHING and in that effort, these are scraps and leftovers I have repeatedly picked up the during last two weeks of projects and put back down. So Wednesday night - I put my foot down and decided "I'm not touching these things one more time!" So they made it into this weeks creation complete with a matching lined envelope...and I still have leftovers of this stuff.

Something funny happened on Thursday night at the Dada Bazaar craft show I was a vendor at... I was adhering the balloons and putting on the finishing touches before photographing and one of the other crafty ladies was passing by and stopped to say hello. She said "Is that your surprise for Saturday?" Not knowing her personally, outside the event, she is one of my new friends on FB from the indie craft scene. I was so thrilled and excited I gave her a sneek peek of the new creation. Sorry for being such a geek, but it was really exciting to me that people do pay attention to one's ramblings...so that being said - I will have fun continuing with my weekly hints for Saturday's reveals!!
