Isn't it funny that stamping and baking are a lot alike? You have to follow the directions, step-by-step, followed by waiting, then another step, then more waiting, and so on... So I was doing both, switching back and forth during those waiting between steps. It worked out pretty good, and I had a good rhythm going. 4 dozen Iced lemon cookies cut, baked and iced - AND - two sets of ATCs completed [stamped, embossed and heat set]. Time for a nap after cookies and milk : )

Test with Mini Bristle Dental Brush
I did a little test with the brush. The one I purchased has bristles about 1/8" long and slightly tapered. They aren't too stiff or too soft. I dipped the brush into a bottle of shimmer spray and then lightly shook off excess. Then over my newspaper I gently tapped the barrel of the brush and I got some varied splatters, a lot of them larger than desired for snow {top photo}. Then I reloaded with some more spray and I used a scrap piece of paper to gently brush through the bristles {bottom photo}. This produced a very fine mist of spots. It WORKS!!! I think I will pick up a couple of other brands to see how they work, too - perhaps the bristles are more/less stiff. Sb

Ten Two Studios Holiday Countdown
Lisa Vollrath is doing her holiday countdown again as a gift to those who have supported her mixed-media web sites, LisaVollrath.com, Ten Two Studios and Go Make Something, She's created a countdown to Christmas that reveals a new printable image sheet each day. Each day from December 1st through Christmas Day, one gift box will be replaced with a link to that day's surprise for my fellow altered art, collage, paper crafting and scrapbooking enthusiasts. Please click on this link to see:

O1A - Lori's Smokin Gal
Smokin' Gal a little description...This is a part of the One Image Fall swap. The image was a lady leaning on a post smoking. I have some old photos from my father who passed away in June that he took on a trip to Europe when he was 15. He took many amazing black & white photos and I immediately thought of this photo to go along with the stamped image. My father was traveling with friends of his parents with a bus tour around Europe in the early 1950s. This particular stop was in Koblenz, Germany and he made a point at telling me why he took this photo - being one of three men on the tour, at every stop, the ladies lined up waiting to use the ladies room. He was probably sick and tired of this at the time, since they traveled to Paris, Italy and Switzerland, plus many other destinations, too. I know that even over 50 years later, we GIRLS are still standing in line waiting for the Loo - and there are never, ever enough [talk about taking a stand, he he]. Enjoy! Sb

Strathmore ATC - "First Snowfall"
This is a card that I made for the Strathmore ATC Card 1-for-1 Swap. The only paramaters were that you use their ATC product to make an original ATC of Winter/Holiday theme. This is an image transfer by use of solvent [I was flying high from this one] and layered some T!m Holtz stamped images. Can't wait to see who and what comes back...Sb

Souffle Pen Discovery...
On Peggy's Card "Art Gives You Wings"...I found out a little something by accident [a creative heads up]: I used purple & green souffle pens to make the green wavy lines and color in the flowers. Then I stamped the boy over it. I got out my markers to color it in and to my surprise the souffle pen made a perfect resist. So I tried my Berol Prismacolor pencils - NOPE - strike two. I had to scratch most of it off to even get Sharpie and my Caran D'ache crayons to cover it...and I can still see it coming through...this Souffle pen resist I stumbled upon will have to be experimented with further...Sb
