Unscripted Sketches - Sketch it Saturday #134

Using sketch #134, I created a birthday card. No Hallmark anymore at my house. I needed a b-day card to send to our niece who shares the same birthday as me. I used a cuttlebug embossing folder and some colorful My Minds Eye scraps from my neverending bag-o-scraps. The jumbo brads are Imaginese that were a pewter color that I painted with a pretty red NAIL POLISH! Yes - I said nail polish. Quick and easy! I tied sheer organza ribbon around each and "Happy Birthday to me, and Abigail..."

Special Feature Project at
Amazing Mold Putty Blog

Making a custom ornament using Amazing Mold Putty...

My next "AMAZING" adventure with Amazing Mold Putty is a custom ornament I am making for my Grandmother {actually 20}. I make ornaments each year for her to give as gifts to her painting students - an annual tradition we have. Last year I wanted to make a beachy snowman {sandman}, but didn't have any way to go about creating it. But I do now and I am so excited to share it with you!!!

This is a two part post - Click here for Part One...

Part Two, the completion airs on November 29th.

I encourage you sign up to the AMP Blog to check out many AMAZING projects from the

Unscripted Sketches - Sketch it Saturday #133

Using sketch #133, I created a card with a twist...because this week also had a piggyback challenge of not using any pre-printed patterned paper. So I had some work to do here. I started out with a piece of crumpled hand-painted brown paper bag. I had made a couple huge sheets of it to make 100 mini book covers. This is painted with a purple/bronzy shimmer spray and purple & brown acrylic paints with blending glaze. The top half of the card is the front of the paper. For contrast, and because it was pretty too, I used the backside of the same paper for the bottom left and right panels. The center panel is the same painted paper overstamped in black with a natural pattern that is from my newly acquired stash of Viva Las Vegastamps! The quirky bird head is also from VLVS that is stamped in brown ink and embossed with clear embossing powder. I finished off with an acrylic bezel word from SEI and some burlap cording I received from May Arts for a contest I'm entering next month. I love this monochromatic card - it is cute!

Using sketch #132, I created another Christmas card using remnants from the neverending Bag-O-Scraps and a leftover sentiment from a previous sketch creation in July all tied up with a bow. Here's this weeks sketch...
