twelve Tags of Christmas with Viva Las Vegastamps! - Day #5

Are you Singing Along..."Five GOLDEN Rings"!!!
Welcome to Day Five of our
Twelve Tags of Christmas with
Viva Las Vegastamps! Design Team!!!

Myself along with members of the Viva Las Vegastamps! Design Team
will each be making tags every day December 1st thru 12th,
all using the same plate of stamps

Thanks for stopping by! To get back to the top of the hop,

Here is my creation for today....

I used the "Santa reading List" from plate 1363 and "Sorry Santa" quote item 15863. I stamped Santa on a My Minds Eye patterned paper, then drew in some lines at a slight angle to give a lined paper look. Like he's remembering one of the letters as he crosses name off his list.

To ground Santa in his chair, I trimmed and glued a strip of grey paper to be a base board. I rubbed the floor area and stool with cat eye chalk inks. I nipped the corners off at the top with a corner punch and edged the entire tag with my antique gold pearlescent dew drop ink {this is my favorite color to use on pretty much everything}. I stamped the quote in brown and gave it a touch with my gelly hologram pen.

I finished this off by using my marvy markers as watercolors by coloring markers onto acrylic block and picking up with my water brush {this is a brush that has a vial of water inside that gently dispenses as you paint}. I love this technique as it is quick and easy, and I don't have to drag out the paints - and I get the same painted effect. Also, I like the results of using markers with the water brush, as opposed to using the blender marker made for blending the markers. I finished off with accenting white areas with a white pen and gelly hologram on his glasses, buckle and boots. Another vintage tag complete...enjoy!
