"E-E-E-E-K!!!" It's week Two of Anything But A Card Challenge #1 -- ANYTHING GOES

It's week number two for the NEW challenge blog "ANYTHING BUT A CARD"!!! ABAC is a bi-weekly challenge and today, the Design Team showcases NEW projects using the current challenge "Anything Goes" Challenge number ONE. Head on over to ABAC and see all the fantastic projects shared by the fantastic design team AND submissions by all of you. Best part...there's still a week to play along and link up via inlinkz froggy.

For this "ANYTHING GOES" challenge - I created this SpOoky Cute "EEK" hanging wall decor.

I saw one of these at the store among the holiday decorations and it was pretty cute, but NOT worth the hefty price tag {$12.99}. I bought it for the purpose of sharing and comparing "HANDMADE" versus "MADE in CHINA". The cute factor is there, but you can't beat the charm and "wow factor" of something you have made yourself. ALSO - these frames are only 2 1/2" square {tiny right?}...I made mine twice as large.

How did I make it myself? With Amazing Mold Putty and Amazing Casting Resin and craft supplies I already have around the house. Please CLICK HERE to see the how-to. You can do some early Trick-or-Treating there, too!!!

"E...E...K!!!" My Halloween Wall Hanging is complete layered over some festive wired ribbon. Isn't is amazing how by adding something as simple as tulle, ribbons and furry trim can add TEXTURE and PERSONALITY to your project??? The tulle bows, lime green grosgrain ribbon, webbing and fun fur complete this SpOoky Cute Decor!

It's so much better than the store-bought decor tied together with plain jane 1/4" black satin ribbon...RIGHT???

ENJOY!!! The next Challenge will debut on Sunday, Sept. 16th! Are you ready to CREATE??? Wonder what it could be??? Remember...The only thing NOT allowed is a card! Sb : )

  2. Man, this is AWESOME!!! I am all about decorating my entire house for every single holiday so this project is seriously inspiring me to try to make something myself. This blows store-bought decor out of the water! I'm glad I get to be on the ABAC DT with you!!! :) :)
