Anything But a Card Challenge 7 is "By the Sea" or Use an Inspiration Photo!
You can use sea colors, ocean life, the beach or let the picture inspire you...the sky is limit!

I love this theme. Today my project is an altered torso. You can find patterns anywhere, or just cut out one freehand. I've traced mine - feel free to download this outline for personal use.

My torso is made of Grungeboard that has been embossed in my favorite Provocraft Cuttlebug folder "Shell Collage". Then I sprayed with three colors of metallic spray mists and rubbed with antique gold dew drop ink. Now to get dress this lady... I strung a few beads and a pearl for a necklace and edged the bottom with teal fringe {I had been hoarding from a crafty goody bag swap}. Ooh-La-La this mermaid is a flapper girl now! Then I added a sea-horse that is die cut from alcohol ink painted paper, pierced with a mini-brad for an eye. I wrapped around a sash made from blue shimmery tulle {I cut up fairy skirt from the Dollar Tree - they got 'em in almost every color and you can't beat a buck} and a section of recycled vegetable mesh. When I wrapped sash around, I captured a couple of mini shells in the layers. I added a couple more shells, all adhered using Helmar 450 and some fun teal fringe to finish her off. I love to use anything and everything and this lady is ready for the Mermaid's Ball!

"Under the Sea Torso..."

I hope you are inspired to play along and I can't see what you create! Have a fantastic day! I'm spending the day in classes with Nathalie Kalbach...YIPPEE!!!
