Life is Precious... Celebrating Mother Earth for LeslieRahye's Earth Day Bloghop

Welcome to my stop on LeslieRahye's Second Annual EARTH DAY Bloghop. I LIVE to RECYCLE. I am an avid greencrafter and am always repurposing interesting things in my projects. This project is an altered Altoid tin. Check back later today for another fantastic greencrafted storage project.

Perfect for today's celebration and bringing spring and rebirth back to this empty tin box - using one of my favorite rubber stamps a flower headed ostrich!

This is the inside of the lid with a patterned paper scrap background overstamped with floral silhouettes and a dragonfly. The border is adorned with a fiber wrapped black shimmery chenille stem {one of my favorite ways to use fibers}.

For the inside of the tin, I have created this stamped collage using my favorite stamp and a quote that is so profound...life is precious. The flower is popped up on 3D dots and hand colored using twinkling H2o's and the center accented with Stickles to add some sparkle.

For the stamp afficianados - this is the side of the Nick Bantock stamp used. I have one other that is a giraffe body with a bird of paradise type flower for the head. These were two of my first "ARTSY" stamps that began my whole rubber obsession.

  6. I like to decorate these tins. I usually make them into little albums for new babies. First tooth, first haircut, etc goes into clear bags and can be kept forever. Great job.
