Having a Crafty Sugar Rush....

Happy Thursday! I have a featured project over at Frog Dog Studio – using their AMAZING March Mixed Media Kit. Included in the March Frog Dog Studio kit are some metal tin boxes, corrugated sheets, Tim Holtz Salvage Stickers, Lindy's Stamp Gang Moon Shadow Mists and loads of other crafty goodness. I knew exactly what to create and was on the hunt through my stash for all things rusty. And that pesky "ONE TOUCH RULE" strikes again. You won't believe what I'm crafting with. A brand-new Steampunk creation that is something a bit more FUN-ctional... and totally SWEET!!!

Of course most projects of mine have something special that is handmade and this project is no exception! Using Amazing Mold Putty, Amazing Casting Resin and Alumilite Metallic Powders, I have created a whimsical Steampunk Cuckoo Clock! I invite you to please jump over to see the fully completed project at Frog Dog Studio...

Spending My #Cre8time Making ATCs for the VLVS! March Challenge

Hello everyone! I've been taking it easy these days {except for the day J.O.B.} and I'm really enjoying taking workshops, going on crafty excursions and creating at my leisure for FUN. Today, rather yesterday - I started this ATC, but got craftily sidetracked doing something else before work {bling can do that sometimes LOL} - so I had to finish this today.

I used the March Inspiration board from Viva Las VegaStamps! along with some VLVS! stamps from my hoards of rubber stamps. I created a background by coloring with a couple of yellows and green Gelatos directly onto the harlequin diamond background #18920, spritzed with water and stamped onto blank white cardstock.

I stamped the bottle with top #10276 onto the side of the same paper using Jet Black Staz-On ink and hand-colored with markers, then fussy cut and tied a piece of green raffia around neck. The "Good Luck" #8142 is stamped onto a scrap of emerald green cardstock and mounted on a scrap of a recycled iced tea bottle label; that is repeated as a border trim behind the bottle. The four leaf clover is created with four hearts punched from a papershapers punch, rubbed with peeled paint distress stain and rubbed with antique olive dewdrop ink. The center of the shamrock is from the Tim Holtz Idea-ology Custom Fasteners Brads {a handy set that comes with two sizes of brads, stickers and the clear faux-resin toppers}. I added a sliver of the gold label for the stem accented with black marker and drew the rest of the stem into the bottle. Finished off with a rubbing of antique gold around the edges and this ATC is ready to display!

No Need to SPARKLE... but I Will for Anything But a Card Challenges No. 33

Good Morning Everyone! Did you hear that it's National Craft Month and I'm happy to report that this is project # two for the month. I've been dabbling here and there and now I'm back to creative overload - my muse has awaken from her slumber.

It's a new month and a new challenge Number 33 beginning at Anything But a Card Challenges. CLICK HERE to check out the other design team projects today for some amazing inspiration!

The new Challenge... Anything But a Card Challenge #33 - the word "SPARKLE"!! What does the word sparkle represents to you? Sparkle can be a personality trait, or a physical appearance, or an attitude. You could be inspired with the written definition; go with a passage from a book or poem - or even quote a song... and of course we include going crazy with bling!

**A REMINDER** This Challenge will go through midnight March 22nd giving you 3 weeks to play along and ENJOY the creative process! We will share more of our Design Team's creations each Sunday to keep you inspired.

I'm determined to use my stash and this challenge sent me on the hunt. I have a stack of My Minds Eye glittered Christmas paper - many patterns are in traditional Christmas colors, but have patterns that could be used for anything. This floral background is the one I settled on. I had this section of embroidered tulle - it was shimmery with just a little bit of sparkle... a perfect element to give some "POP" to my background garden. I cut the embroidered parts out of the tulle and glued it to my page using Aleene's Fabric Adhesive.

After stamping my quote onto my background paper, I added some detailing with Sakura Gelli Stardust Pens {more sparkle}, and inked the edges. I generously applied glue stick to the back and adhered into my black-paged Art Quote Journal. I finished around the edges with a rubbing of black shimmery dew drop ink and also a smudging of black gelato.

A "SPARKLE" of Inspiration...

I'm so happy how this page come out and the quote is so motivational. Who'd have thought it all started from a piece of patterned Christmas paper!

Thanks for stopping by and have a fantastic day!  :) Sb

Say "Hello There!" with an Anytime Card using Unscripted Sketches #246

Hello There! It's Sketch-It Saturday and I'm starting off the weekend getting my creative mojo going with a pretty anytime card using Unscripted Sketches #246. A patterned paper and a few scraps leftover on the table with a flower, a chalk inked resin leaf, and a dymo sentiment... VOILA! A card ready to go.

I just love layering torn strips of patterned
papers to create shabby chic borders.
