"Under the Sea" Twinchie

This is my first ever Twinchie for a grungepaper swap for the All Things T!M group. Cutting the grungepaper on my little tonic guillotine cutter was a little tough, but worked. I cut the squares then sprayed with purple and blue shimmer mists. Then I rubbed edges with my fav dewdrop Pearlescent Olive and blotted Platinum here and there and smudged these in with fingers [fingers were quite blue after this] and grungepaper held color mists well. Then I fed these through my cuttlebug with the Shell Collage embossing folder and the twinchies began to come to life. I rubbed raised parts again with the Pearlescent Olive and set them aside to dry while I embarked on die cutting...The sea horse and starfish are cuttlebug die cuts out of leftover scraps of gloss paper handpainted with alchohol inks. After adhering the seahorse, I smudged on versamark all over, then applied clear E.P. - then something unexpected HAPPENED! The embossing powder stuck to everything. The seemingly dry backgrounds - obviously not DRY. So I rubbed off some of the embossing powder to get a more bubbly look. I didn't want it everywhere. <> Then I heat set all of them and finished off with a fairy skirt of blue shimmery tool from the Dollar Tree [LOVE THAT PLACE] and a small shell and some plastic netting I've been hoarding for god knows how long. Voila! Sb

  1. oh, dang--it looks like a happy accident and a lot of work went into these! It turned out gorgeous! I love all the details and time you spent on these--it really paid off!

  2. I'm a big Tim Holtz fan also! I'm doing the CFH Blog Hop today and saw your Under the Sea Twinchie and just had to post! It is beautiful! Love the colors and all the details.
