Who Knew??? Anything But a Card!!!
A New, Fun Challenge!!!

Welcome to the debut of a new challenge blog "ANYTHING BUT A CARD"!!! Launching today the ABAC Challenge Blog is LIVE. This is a bi-weekly challenge and every Sunday, the ABAC Design Team will showcase projects with the current challenge. The first challenge is "ANYTHING GOES"....and remember...anything BUT a CARD. I can't wait to see what you create as you play along!

WHAT IS ABAC???

The ABAC Challenge Blog is designed to provide a biweekly challenge for crafters of all kind to create something other than a card! You can do ATC's, tags, sewing, scrapbook layouts, felting, painting, sculpture, altered items, textiles, the list is endless! The only thing NOT allowed is a card! There are no prizes, but we will feature Three Inspirational Projects from among the challenge entries after the challenge ends. No vendor restrictions. You may combine with any other challenges. No limits to the number of entries for each challenge.

My first project for ABAC Challenges will be featured next Sunday {Sept. 9th}, but I wanted to share a fun holiday ornament how-to for today's launch of "Anything But A Card".

I gathered my Sakura 3D Crystal Lacquer, some holiday die cut paper shapes and glass tiles from Sakura Hobby Crafts.

I prepped and inked the paper die-cuts and adhered frame on top of angel piece using Sakura 3D Crystal Lacquer. I flood-filled in the center area with Crystal Lacquer and placed glass tile in the center.

After adjusting placement, I filled in remaining border with
Crystal Lacquer to give extra dimension and shine.

While the decorated tile was drying - I set to work creating a paper rondela. I stamped using "Jingle Bells #10686 Sheet Music" from Viva Las Vegastamps! onto a natural tone paper making several strips. I score at 1/4" intervals down the length of each strip and then cut my strips in half to about 2" wide. I accordion folded on score lines and adjoined two strips together and glued together into a circular shape. I adhered this together with a punched circle on the front and back with Crystal Lacquer.

Rondela completed and inked and finished off with some Gold/Citrine Mica powder mist.

Now to add some GLITZ! I lined the edge with Crystal Lacquer and dipped into Holiday Mix Glitz Effects. This is the perfect finishing touch! Tied off with festive red ribbon hanger and this ornament is ready to hang!
