Day Four!!! Twelve Tags of Christmas with Viva Las Vegastamps! Design Team!!!
Myself along with members of the Viva Las Vegastamps! Design Team
will each be making tags every day December 1st thru 12th,
all using the same plate of stamps
Thanks for stopping by! To get back to the top of the hop,
Here is my where I started my creation for today....
I used two stamps from plate 1363 and a recycled tag from Pier 1 that I painted with a mixture of gesso, creme & light green acrylic paints, and acrylic glazing medium. This makes a nice textured base, yet is slightly transparent showing underlying layers. I brushed edges with antique gold dewdrop pearlescent ink. Then I stamped sentiment in black, and accidentally smudged text. So I smudged a little more and went over text with a red pen, and then my favorite gelly hologram pen. Then I stamped the mini Santa several times and edged the bottom with a strip of torn paper (a salvaged scrap). Sweet & Simple.

ReplyDeleteFor a minute there, I thought you made a Pier 1 tag. LOL Great job on recycling and reusing. Your tag gave me a chuckle because Santa just looks so dang happy. Nice job.
ReplyDeleteI love the colors you've chosen. The tag has a vintage feel yet is so very today, too!

Pretty and "green" at the same time!!
ReplyDeleteGreat how you turned a smudge into an artful component!!
ReplyDeleteAwesome!
ReplyDeleteGreat work - especially love that you recycled a price tag!
ReplyDeleteI love re-purposing things & I certainly have an overabundance of store tags (much to my husband's chagrin!) You've inspired me to re-purpose them. The little Santa is such a jolly elf & looks adorable repeated on your tag. Also--good job on making your smudge error look intentional! Great tip on how to recover.
ReplyDeleteFun tag, Susan--that Santa is so cute, and the recycled tag idea is such a great idea!
