For the LOVE of #Cre8time... Bloghop with Artwork Inspired by Sanna Lippert

Good Morning! Today I have a special project to share today that is inspired by a fellow artist Sanna Lippert. 

Last month she created this inspiration canvas {CLICK HERE} and today - myself along with several other creatives have got together to share our take on her work today in a special bloghop. At the end of my project, there is an inLinkz with all the participants on this special bloghop {click the corresponding box to jump to that stop on the hop}.

First thing I grabbed is one of my many "EXTRAS" - these are painted background sheets that are from mopping/sopping up leftover mists and paint from other projects. These make great project starters. This particular background was a leftover from my ICAD2014 project from Day No. 5 "Galaxy".

I gathered a bunch of this and that from my stash to create an altered desktop frame using the techniques that Sanna used in creating her canvas. I'm preparing for a craft show in August and this project came together nicely using leftovers gathered from several other crafty adventures.

I started off my using a Luminarte spray mist to spray the frame. This is a quick and easy way to add color to a wood frame... it fills in all the cracks and seams and I brushed the color on all sides - even the backside.

For any woodgrain areas that were repelling the pigment in the mist, I dry brushed on a metallic purple acrylic paint to cover and add extra texture. Easy peasy!

I tore and inked up my painted paper, then began creating my rolls by wrapping around a pencil. I added a thin line of Diamond Glaze with a toothpick that tacks up quick, then trimmed away at the seam. I used all three strips that I tore which made the perfect amount of rolls to fit my frame. I love the serendipity of how there is no waste. The three small scraps that remained I stamped "dream", "inspire" and "wish" {all Viva Las VegaStamps!}; then matted with a scrap of the background paper mounted in the frame.

I wound a metallic blue thread around each and mounted them to the glass of the frame using double sided tape. Topped off with my inspirational words and the wired beaded heart accent {by Creative Imaginations that I've had forever}, this frame has been transformed into a beautiful desktop inspiration piece.

Spending my #Cre8time making DIY Jewelry

Good evening! It's another Mold Rubber Monday over at the Amazing Crafting Products Blog and today I am sharing a bangle inspired by some acrylic bangles I saw in the mall using the gorgeous Decopatch tissue from Frog Dog Studio April Mixed Media Kit. I've created a bangle mold using Amazing Mold Rubber... and haven't had a chance to use it yet. This was the perfect project - since I was not paying $18 for the bangles at the mall when I can do it myself.

While on a rare excursion to the mall with other half - there was a new stylish store "Desigual" that I've never seen, so I persuaded my other half to run in. They had all sorts of colorful clothes and accessories... and I spied these bangles – the same exact colors and nearly the same pattern of the Decopatch Tissue in the FDS kit. The cost of one of these bangles {$18} is about the cost of an entire box of Amazing Clear Cast Resin; which would produce at least a dozen handmade bangles if not more.

Good Morning! It's time for a new Challenge at Anything But a Card Challenges and I have a SPRINGTIME STEAMPUNK project to share that I created combining the Frog Dog Studio March Kit and Amazing Crafting Products. I am totally Cuckoo for all things "Steampunk" and I also have an extreme sweet tooth of the marshmallow Peeps® variety. I have created an amazing whimsical timepiece combining both... and repurposing a glitter tray too!

The new Challenge... Anything But a Card Challenge #34 - "SPRING Forward"!! We know Spring is dragging it's feet in arriving as ol' man winter keeps his heels dug in the snow and ice... so we are celebrating the new season with an OPEN THEME!!! Feel free to break out the bright colors and create along with Spring and Easter, or create whatever your muse desires... as long as it's anything but a card!

This is a sampling of most of the supplies I used to create this masterpiece. Yes there is a glitter tray here. WHAT!!?? Not to leave you in suspense – the glitter tray will be repurposed to be transformed into the faux birdhouse backdrop for my Steampunk Cuckoo Clock.

This project was a labor of love - involving loads of steps and preparing WAY more items to adhere than can possibly fit... and a Tim Gunn "editing eye" was in order. Please CLICK HERE to jump over to see the entire HOW-TO and process.

The resin layered gear assemblies and one bolt finishes the top. I might add more to the other side after this grows on me a bit.

RUSTY found furniture protectors are perfect escutcheons for my clock. I also used ball chain to hang some findings from the bottom.

On one side is a rusty found wrench and the other item, my cast resin wishbone cluster from my favorite handmade necklace... I can always make another... and I will!

Having a Crafty Sugar Rush....

Happy Thursday! I have a featured project over at Frog Dog Studio – using their AMAZING March Mixed Media Kit. Included in the March Frog Dog Studio kit are some metal tin boxes, corrugated sheets, Tim Holtz Salvage Stickers, Lindy's Stamp Gang Moon Shadow Mists and loads of other crafty goodness. I knew exactly what to create and was on the hunt through my stash for all things rusty. And that pesky "ONE TOUCH RULE" strikes again. You won't believe what I'm crafting with. A brand-new Steampunk creation that is something a bit more FUN-ctional... and totally SWEET!!!

Of course most projects of mine have something special that is handmade and this project is no exception! Using Amazing Mold Putty, Amazing Casting Resin and Alumilite Metallic Powders, I have created a whimsical Steampunk Cuckoo Clock! Winter Wonderland Snow Dome... Wintery Sparkle to Enjoy Through the Season

Hello everyone! I have been spending the month taking care of my health as January is going to take off from zero to the moon for me. I woke up this am realizing its December 28th {yikes} and I haven't shared a couple things I have done this month.

This project served as my Christmas Tree and my hubs found a cute little train to match at CVS. Spending the holidays at home this year in hot and sunny South Florida doesn't really feel like Christmas... a trip home to Chi-town is on the TO-DO list soon!

For this project I combine Amazing Crafting Products and items from the December Frog Dog Studio kit... to create this wintery wonderland dome created using a recycled seltzer bottle, wine cork and tape spool... and my DIY AMAZING No-Gelatin Printing Plate, too!

  

I applied Pearl Viva Colour Modeling Creme on my AMAZING No-Gelatin Printing Plate to make some fabulous monoprint texture resembling snowbanks. 

I will tear this paper into sections and layer to create some some snowy layers...

Working quickly - I dipped the tree directly into the resin, rotating to hit all the tips of the tree branches. As the Amazing Casting Resin Cures - it becomes an opaque white. You have to work quickly - the Amazing Casting Resin has about a 5 minute open time before it cures {especially when you mix a small batch}.

With a scraps of patterned paper a, ribbon, some tulle and a pretty button - my recycled bottle and tape spool are transformed into a "Winter Wonderland" dome.
